Job DescriptionAs a Server with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Your warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding food and beverage offerings makes guests of our restaurants and lounges feel unique and valued.What you will be doing:  Anticipate guests' needs while providing information on food and beverage selectionsTake orders and deliver food and beverage items in a prompt and professional mannerMaintain knowledge of all food and beverage items in order to assist guests with menu selectionsEnhance revenue flow through suggestive selling techniquesMaintain accurate guest checks, handle cash, make accurate deposits, and balance credit and cash sales at the end of every shiftKeep restaurant and work areas cleanEnsure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiativesAdhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiativesCarry out any other tasks as assignedQualificationsA minimum of 2 years’ experience serving in a restaurantAlberta ProServe certificationMust have sincere desire to exceed guest expectationsPassion for food and wine with a knowledge of wine serviceSelf-motivated, with the ability to make effective decisionsDemonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain high service levels under pressurePhysically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shiftYou may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts.
