B+H Architects is currently seeking an Intermediate Healthcare Planner to join our dynamic and progressive team based in our Toronto Studio. B+H offers the opportunity for candidates to grow their skills in a local and global collaborative environment surrounded by passionate thought leaders who are adamant about pushing boundaries, thinking differently, advancing design excellence, and having fun in everything we do.As an Intermediate Healthcare Planner, you will be working collaboratively with the Healthcare Architecture and Interior Design team on the delivery of large scale Healthcare projects in Canada, as well as well as supporting and mentoring our junior designers. This role can be based in Toronto, Vancouver or Calgary.Join us in shaping the future of Healthcare environments in Canada.Primary Responsibilities:Assist in managing the deliverables for the medical planning team within the greater project deliverable scheduleAssist in leading the medical planning process within the design team to create department floor plan concepts reflective of operationsProvide expertise on the differences in institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments.Serve as the main point of contact for the client on planning issuesWork with end users to outline process flows and critical adjacencies of clinical roomsUnderstand and guide discussions on medical equipment needsAssist the coordination of all disciplines related to the building design and health planning.Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawingsPrepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives as well as drawings and specification documentsProvide planning, design and coordination support on projects and pursuitsEngage in mentoring junior team members or other interested colleagues in health planning practicesOther duties as neededQualificationsMaster's degree in ArchitectureRegistered Architect preferredMinimum 5-7 years’ experience in Healthcare planning experience required Clear understanding of the differences in institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environmentsClear understanding of applicable codes & building construction systems, materials, and standardsUnderstanding of healthcare trendsUnderstanding of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings and modelsStrong presentation, communication, organizational, collaboration and communication skillsStrong leadership, critical thinking, effective problem solving and decision-making skillsTeam player, adaptable with a positive attitudeStrong computer skills (REVIT, MS Office Suite, Blue Beam)Must be willing to travel to locations across Canada*Please include Portfolio with Resume.A Bit About Us – B+H and Surbana Jurong Group (SJ Group)B+H is a global, award-winning consulting and design solutions firm founded on a legacy of 70 years of creating bold and inspiring places for people.
