The Terry Fox Research Institute (TFRI) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Patient Working Group Coordinator to join the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network (MOHCCN). The TFRI is a renowned research organization that drives innovative cancer research to improve patient outcomes. The MOHCCN – a bold initiative spearheaded by the Terry Fox Research Institute in collaboration with dozens of fundraising and research partners across the country, including the Federal Government of Canada – brings Canadians together again under Terry’s vision. The Network's goal is to link the country’s top cancer hospitals and research centres to accelerate the implementation of precision medicine for cancer. The Patient Working Group was created with the vision of bringing together people with lived experience with cancer – including patients, survivors and caregiver – to participate in the advancement of MOHCCN mandates and help shape the future of precision cancer care in Canada. The Patient Working Group Coordinator will report to the Managing Director of the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network and is responsible for the administration and organization of the Network’s Patient Working Group. This part-time term position (up to March 31, 2026, with a possibility for extension) involves coordinating meetings, managing communications, and ensuring the smooth operation of the group’s activities.  Responsibilities:Work closely with the working group co-chairs to schedule and organize meetings for the Patient Working Group, including preparing agendas, distributing materials, and recording minutes.In collaboration with the MOHCCN team, assist in the facilitation of outreach programs and other activities driven by the program’s overall strategy.Maintain accurate records of meetings, decisions, and action items. Prepare reports and summaries as needed for internal and external stakeholders, including creating tracking mechanisms for Patient Working Group member participation across activities and follow-ups.Coordinate events, workshops, and other activities related to the working group, ensuring all logistical details are managed efficiently.Ensure the working group has the necessary resources by developing any necessary materials and guidelines to carry out its activities effectively, under the supervision of program managers. Contribute to the development and refinement of processes that enhance the patients' experience as members of the working group. Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role within a healthcare setting. Previous experience as a pivot nurse or social worker is highly desirable.Strong organizational and project management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience working with patient groups or in a patient advocacy role.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Fluency in English and French is an asset.Salary Range: $23,500-28,500Hours: Part-time (18h45/week) How to Apply: If you are passionate about making a difference in cancer research and have a deep interest to grow your career in communications, we invite you to submit your application.
