Send your resume our way.In the position of Business Advisor, you will represent Westland to the market and provide insurance services and advice to clients. You will bring together strong technical skills and general insurance knowledge in this retention-focused role. You will have an assigned Commercial book of business of small business Commercial accounts.You demonstrate confidence in problem-solving and creative thinking while continuously expanding your knowledge. You are proactive in taking on more responsibilities while developing your skills.Responsibilities:Achieving sales targets (monthly and quarterly) individually and as a team.Professionally represent Westland Insurance through the insurance sales process.Submit underwriting information to in-house and external underwriters; follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotations.Engage with clients to determine their insurance needs and provide expert advice to ensure their best insurance coverage and protection.Identify exposures to loss and recommend appropriate coverage.Accountable for front-line underwriting.Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive contact via phone, letter, and email.Continue professional development of technical and sales skills.Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.Develop new business opportunities by securing expiry dates, cross-selling and upselling insurance products, and requesting referrals.Employ expertise in the use of software and applications to manage leads and sell insurance.Maintain records of actions, recommendations, and declined coverage.Collaborate with co-workers and managers to develop positive and effective office procedures.Manage policy renewals, policy changes, and cancellations in accordance with Client Service Strategy.Obtain, review, and submit underwriting information.Identify exposure to loss and recommend appropriate coverage.Assess need for Loss Control or Risk Management.Identify cross-selling, upselling, and new business opportunities (secondary).Collect and maintain accounts receivables.Key Relationships:Reporting to: Manager, Business SolutionsInteracting with: Clients, Internal and External Underwriters.Qualifications & Skills:Insurance Broker Level 2 LicenseMinimum 2 years’ insurance experienceCommercial insurance knowledge preferredStrong communication and customer serviceYou belong here.
