This is a contract position for a Project Manager/Leader - Senior for our public sector client.Work location: 5700 Yonge Street, Toronto Duration: Eleven Months7.25 hours/dayThis is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)AdvantagesGood compensation working on projects that will make a difference to the people of Ontario.Responsibilities- Gather and develop requirements to create and maintain a detailed project and implementation schedules and/or integrated plans- Experience developing and managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope- Ability to promote I&IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies- Demonstrated experience directing teams to ensure deliverables are delivered on time and adhere to government and ministry standards- Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project, implementation and support processes, and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures- Resolve resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, negotiate changes to resourcing, ensure knowledge is shared among team members such as project objectives and deliverables are met- Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates, gating, forecasts, and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals- Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed- Articulate and prioritize issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makersQualifications- Experience facilitating diverse system stakeholders in highly integrated and complex solution delivery environments, providing leadership and advice to establish common business objectives and solution roadmaps, while developing business standards and realizing system automation.- Demonstrated experience leading projects that involve system vendor management, issues management, and system integration across multiple vendor solutions.- Experience identifying and assessing technical project risks, mitigation strategies and contingency plans.- Understanding proposed NG911 solution requirements and business standards, experience with the development of technical requirements and specifications for procuring and implementing Canadian Compliant-standards-based technology to support NG911 platform and systems.- Understanding of system and operational standards applied in Public Safety Answering Points (PSASPs) in Ontario, including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) solutions, Medical Priority Dispatch System, and voice recording and other archival solutions.- Understanding of current and emerging 911 technologies to fit needs identified by the PSAP user community, including, but not limited to a wide range of Telecommunication technologies for voice, video, text and data, including, but not limited to: Transmission infrastructure, Internet Protocol (IP) based communication related networks, PBX system integration and interconnection technique, and storage- Ability to write complex business cases- Project management experience, including establishing a critical path, identifying milestones and deliverables, contingency planning, task analysis, costing / budgeting, team building, and determining scope- Experience with gathering and developing requirements to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan- Project Management experience (as appropriate to the specified experience and level) and use of Project Management software (as appropriate to the specified experience level).- Experience in the development and implementation of project management processes, plans, and communication tools.- An experienced individual with a proven track record for meeting strict deadlines and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure work on tasks/milestones remains within time and cost constraints.- Experience with working with complex multi faceted projects with diverse working groups- Demonstrated experience preparing and distributing project updates, progress reports to project stakeholder while managing expectations pertaining to scope and timeline constraints.- Strong Stakeholder and relationship management skills to negotiate operational impacts and build consensus among various parties- Demonstrated experience communicating across many functional areas (matrix organization) to actively engage project stakeholders and manage client expectations with diverse interests, technical and non- technical backgrounds using the appropriate level of political acuity and messaging for the audience- Demonstrated experience identifying a mix of skilled technical resources necessary to complete project assignments/deliverables, including clarifying roles and responsibilities- A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the Ontario EMS sector (land and air)- Experience in details of the methods identification and assessment of business policy implications and the development of mitigation
