Senior Accountant - Audit

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Accountant - Audit in the Finance Industry. Responsibilities:Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagementsSet-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businessesTake account and prepare personal and corporate taxes ensuring government guidelines are followed Prepare end year taxes (T4's and T5's), examine and correct errors in reports, entries, documents etc. Prepare financial statements and notesAssess and assure appropriateness of audit evidence, providing clear documentation Complete bank and other account reconciliations, prepare payroll, DAS, CSST, GST and QST government reports, etc.Assemble qualified correspondence, reports, client summaries and presentations, outlining engagement findings, facts and featuresBe a leader for engagement teams, build relationships and act as a mentor or coach for new employees, be apart of new business initiatives. Flexibility to travel (if necessary) Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred)Completion of, or working towards, a CPA designation; completion of the CFE examination and working towards relevant practical experience requirements will also be considered1 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experienceWorking knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Experience working with accounting and tax softwareWe offer:Full time permanent position!
