This position is an important and multi-faceted role. The successful candidate is expected to meaningfully contribute to various actuarial initiatives such as supporting the FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) function for the Branch, as well as inforce management and performance analysis, while being a key contributor to strategic initiatives including enhancing business performance analytics and supporting local and Group management and various departments of SCOR.This role will require strong interactions with key stakeholders including Group FP&A, other Group functions, Finance, Operations, and Pricing & Business Development to develop and monitor key metrics/KPIs, while delivering value-added insights to management.Required characteristics include strong actuarial and financial background, including (but not limited to) knowledge of FP&A (or similar financial plan/forecast exercise and financial analysis), valuation and financial reporting under IFRS17, and AXIS software. Also, the successful candidate would be able to clearly communicate results and implications to key stakeholders while possessing an innovative mindset to resolve complex actuarial issues and drive efficiencies to the overall processes.The successful candidate is expected to be an experienced actuarial analyst, with demonstrated expertise in actuarial valuation and financial reporting. The candidate is expected to support the Head of L&H Reserving Canada by leading the following activities: Responsible for developing and enhancing the IFRS17 Strategic Plan and its KPIs, consolidating financial planning data, cashflows and analysis in support of SCOR’s target Operating Plan.  Liaise with Group FP&A to support quarterly reporting under both IFRS17 and SII reporting bases. This includes analyzing and monitoring actual results vs target Operational Plan. Lead quarterly landing process, ensuring strong communication on performance analytics to key stakeholders. Liaise closely with other stakeholders including local Finance team on FP&A and financial reporting, local Operations team and technical accountant on quarterly actuals and closing process, and Pricing on monitoring inforce and new business trends. Develop business performance analytics and help prepare quarterly management reports, including Volume reports and financial dashboards to monitor business trends. Develop specific business performance analytics to support local and Group strategic initiatives. Support other L&H Reserving initiatives as needed. Collaborate with all key partners of SCOR to enable achievement of shared goals and objectives. Required characteristics of the candidate include relevant corporate actuarial experience, IFRS17 expertise, and AXIS knowledge. Also, the successful candidate would be able to clearly communicate results and implications to key stakeholders while possessing an innovative mindset to resolve complex actuarial issues and drive efficiencies to the overall process.Produce quarterly landing and analysis for L&H Canada Produce the Operating Plan for L&H Canada and supporting analytics Deliver Inforce Management/Performance Analysis Ensure effective communication with the Operations team Provide input to Branch Oversight Committee and Regional Market reports Produce the Volume report Produce the Financial Dashboard and IFRS17 KPIs ASA/ACIA (or FSA/FCIA although not a requirement) actuary with 5+ years of relevant working experience within the insurance/reinsurance industry Sound knowledge of actuarial and financial reporting, FP&A and financial analytics Demonstrated forward-thinking and innovative approach to analyze problems, relate them to the big picture, and recommend well thought-out solutions Well-organized and a self-directed individual who is a team player Demonstrated ability to handle priorities / projects concurrently and be deadline driven Demonstrated innovation and creativity in proposing new ways of working Flourishes working as part of a busy team in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal & written communication skills; proven success communicating effectively across different levels within an organization Knowledge of AXIS software Knowledge of data-based applications (Python, SAS, PowerBI, etc.) an asset French language proficiency while not a pre-requisite, will be considered an asset
