Description Fleet Yard Checker-Dartmouth-NS Part-time- Permanent  Kal Tire is seeking a Fleet Yard checker to supervise the transportation services and activities at a specific Kal Tire warehouse. They effectively and efficiently plan and direct transport operations, plan drivers' dispatch, assign loads to drivers according to customer needs and driver capabilities and ensure that all loads are accurately processed and delivered.  Key Highlights of this role:  Load and unload trucks. Follow Kal Tire loading and unloading procedures to ensure products are safely secured Proven leadership ability Strong customer service orientation and sales experience Experience with routine maintenance operations Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments that align with organizational goals. Minimum 2 years’ relatable experience Strong background in the transportation industry Grade 12 or GED equivalent Proven leadership ability Proficiency with various computer programs and software Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations How would you accomplish success? Ability to work well under pressure Adaptability / flexibility and ability to multi-task Decision making / judgement Strong customer service orientation / communication skills Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Qualifications Valid driver’s license. Having the ability to lift 30-50 lb as needed. Extensive forklift experience is a prerequisite Stand up forklift and / or skid steer experience would considered an asset Being safety conscious is of utmost importance - always wear required PPE and follow instructed work protocols.
