Working collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers, the Manager applies strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges to achieve the ultimate goal of high quality, safe, and cost effective services to better support patient experience/outcome.The Health Services Manager exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Health Services Program and the Mission and Vision and Strategic Directions of Nova Scotia Health, and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of Nova Scotia Health.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Bachelor’s Degree in a health related disciplineCurrent registration with applicable college related to health degreeMinimum 5 years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolioMinimum 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environmentExperience developing and facilitating strategies consistent with the principles of Organizational HealthDemonstrated proficiency in program planning, financial and human resource management, oral and written communication and interpersonal effectivenessExcellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome, and cope with unexpected challengesDemonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuumDemonstrated commitment to employee and self-development and continuous quality improvementProficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, internet, email, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision supportDemonstrated regular attendance in current and previous employmentPhysical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as managing multiple priorities, time-sensitive deadlines, stressful situations, working flexible/extended hours and travelling within and outside NSH as necessaryValid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicleCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredPlease ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursPermanent, Full-time position; 75 hours biweeklyCompensation and Benefits$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
