Job DescriptionIdentify and manage commercial risksEvaluate, negotiate, and execute both corporate and strategic agreements such as: Leases, Rental Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Contractual Joint Venture, Sales/Purchasing Agreements, Sub-contracts, Consulting Agreements, and Licensing AgreementsReview and negotiate customer proposed terms and conditionsServe as the point of contact for customers and suppliers on commercial mattersParticipate in proposal development and reviewAs needed, provide guidance on commercial matters to project managers or other operational staff, including training to new project managers and other employees in commercial practices and proceduresAssist in the development and implementation procedures for effective commercial management in compliance with company policy. As appropriate, contribute to or influence company policiesWork with Risk Management / Finance / Legal to coordinate contractual and, as applicable, insurance requirementsSupport Program Delivery / Business Development / Marketing to ensure company products and services are offered with appropriate, competitive terms and conditionsMonitor competitive terms and conditions, customer satisfaction and contracting practices and, as applicable, recommend changesHandle on-going issues and change management within the Commercial practiceCollect, analyze, and communicate data with stakeholders to help develop procurement strategies, performance measurement strategies, corporate plans and budgetsCoordinate strategies with internal stakeholders to help maximize the use of Canadian capabilities in sourcing practices and proceduresQualificationsDegree/Diploma in Law or Business or business and legal training combined with relevant experienceMinimum 5 years of relevant experience working in commercial contracting, ideally working in the military, defence, aerospace and security industry. Knowledge of PSPC RFP, ITT/ITQ and RFQ/RFI proceduresKnowledge of PSPC SACC manual terms and conditions related to the purchase of goods and services, intellectual property, and software development. Knowledge of business ethics, the Canadian controlled goods directive and the US International Traffic-in-Arms RegulationsExcellent communication and presentation skillsTechnical proficiency in the MS Office suite, primarily Excel, Word and PowerPointAssets/ Nice to haves:Working in a Digital environment with SalesforceKnowledge of Industrial and Technological Benefits program in CanadaKnowledge and experience in contracting with the Government of Canada using a variety of contracting mechanisms including TBIPS and SBIPSA professional certification in Commercial & Contracts Management or Supplier Relationship Management from World Commerce & Contracting (formally IACCM), NCMA or other relevant certificationAdditional InformationWork-Life BalanceWe strongly support a healthy and productive work-life balance.
