The Technology Infrastructure Operations Practice Lead is responsible for overseeing and guiding the operations of the IT infrastructure practice within the organization. They are accountable to provide leadership, strategic direction, and technical expertise to ensure the effective functioning of IT infrastructure systems, including servers, networks, storage, and data centers.This role involves providing technical leadership to a team of infrastructure professionals, developing best practices and standards, implementing operational processes, and fostering innovation to optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, and security. The Technology Infrastructure Operations Practice Lead collaborates with stakeholders to align infrastructure initiatives with business goals and objectives, driving continuous improvement and delivering high-quality services to support the organization's overall success.Day in The LifeYou might be wondering what you can expect in a typical day at work. Every day will bring new opportunities, focusing on key responsibilities, including:Actively participate in the Solution Review Board, providing technical expertise and guidance on proposed solutions and initiatives.Offer technical advisory services to internal teams and stakeholders, helping them make informed decisions regarding infrastructure technologies and implementations. Validate vendor proposed designs and solutions, ensuring they align with organizational requirements and standards.Develop and maintain infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business objectives, outlining future initiatives and technology enhancements.Optimize current technologies and processes to enhance performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of IT infrastructure operations.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) configuration and process.Ensure adherence to ITIL or similar frameworks to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. Maintain compatibility across all technologies within the IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and interoperability.Provide technical guidance and expertise to address complex infrastructure challenges and optimize performance.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform infrastructure strategy and decision-making.Offer technical architectural leadership, designing and validating scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.Provide technical direction and leadership for the IT infrastructure practice, aligning it with the organization's overall goals and objectives.Develop and communicate a clear technical vision for the future of the IT infrastructure to drive innovation and continuous improvement.You Have:EducationBachelor’s degree in Information Technology and/or Computing Systems Technology.ITIL Certification.Experience5+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure operations practice/team leadership.Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue-resolution techniques.Experience with business and technical requirements analysis.Experience in developing and maintaining infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business objectives. Knowledge of optimization techniques to enhance infrastructure performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.Experience in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and designing scalable solutions.Competencies and KnowledgeIn-depth understanding of IT infrastructure technologies and architectures; Experience in providing technical leadership and direction to teams. Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in IT infrastructure management.Broad technical expertise across multiple infrastructure technologies; Experience in providing technical advisory services to internal teams and stakeholders. Ability to evaluate proposed solutions and provide recommendations based on technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.Strong understanding of reference architecture principles and best practices; Experience in creating and maintaining architecture and design standards for IT infrastructure components. Familiarity with interoperability and compatibility considerations.Experience in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and designing scalable solutions.Proficiency in implementing and enforcing ITIL or similar frameworks. Experience in establishing operational processes, standards, and procedures.
