Technologies developed at Epson Canada have a global reach.We are seeking a Principal System Architect Engineer to translate user requests into the planning and design of hardware and software solutions for customers. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in developing proof of concepts that avoid overly complicated structures and deliver user-friendly consumer products such as robotics/imaging applications.Responsibilities:Understand the technical and business requirements from internal and external stakeholders, being considered the expert with respect to product knowledge, skill and problem solving.Prepare technical documentations with minimal or no review required.Lead requirement management and project planning activities according to departmental procedures.Lead design, system architecture and product roadmap activities at all levels by understanding industry trend, business and technical needs.Design, create and monitor the implementation of end-to-end integrated systemsReview new and existing system designs and make recommendations for improving or altering the systems, with significant impact on decisionsPrepare test plans, testing their own and others software and leading small test teams.Communicate with customers, actively and proactively responding to their request and issues.Communicate with project stakeholders on technical issues and project issues.Must haves:Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.5+ years of experience with hardware and software system design and architecture in robotics and machine learning related applications5+ years software development experience in C++ and/or Python for robotics applications/systems3+ years of experience testing, maintaining and/or launching software products3+ years of experience in machine learning development and deployment Great communication and presentation skillsGood to have:Experience with Machine Learning infrastructure (e.g., GPU, cloud TPU), or deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), algorithms and tools (e.g., Kubeflow, Ray.io, MLflow)Experience with developing and deploying computer vision applicationsExperience with developing and deploying LLM applicationsKnowledge and experience with Robot Operating System (ROS)Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects.Dynamic and collaborative work environment.Career growth and development opportunities.We thank all candidates who apply, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.We’re an equal opportunity employer.
