Director, Community Partnerships - Foundation

This role involves remote/work from home with a requirement for a minimum of two (2) days per week working onsite and may be subject to change as the organization works through its hybrid workforce plan and/or changing needs of the Foundation. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world's leading research centres in its field. CAMH Foundation is charged with raising and stewarding funds in support of CAMH. The Corporate and Community Partnerships team is responsible for engaging corporate Canada and various community groups in a meaningful way that results in long-term and sustainable partnerships that help the Foundation reach its fundraising, awareness, and impact goals. THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Director, Community Partnerships, is responsible for leading CAMH Foundation's community partnerships strategy and fundraising activities to grow revenue and engagement from community third-party events, community groups, associations, and cause-marketing partnerships with small to medium businesses. As a senior member of the Corporate and Community Partnerships team, the Director will manage one Specialist and play a leadership role in the planning and delivery of the Corporate and Community Partnerships team's operational plans in support of CAMH Foundation's strategic direction and goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMMUNITY & EVENTS

• Lead community partnerships, and overall third-party fundraising portfolio and be accountable for the development and implementation of fundraising plans to support long and short-term production and revenue goals.
• Build and manage personal portfolio of key community partners to achieve individual and overall team revenue targets.
• Build strong relationships with diverse communities and organizations to foster collaboration and cohesion.
• Provide leadership in the management and execution of community partnerships and third-party events.
• Develop strategy and oversee management of the Community Partnerships portfolio ensuring we achieve production and revenue targets, while supporting annual events.
• Lead the assessment, cultivation and solicitation of new community fundraising events and partnerships to ensure continued growth of this important revenue stream.
• Work with CAMH and CAMH Foundation teams to promote and celebrate community partnerships and third-party events.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Donor Engagement to provide an important vehicle for the community to increase engagement and fundraising for CAMH.

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITY

• Oversee Community Partnerships portfolio of 80 to 120 community fundraisers, hundreds of event participants, donors, and prospects.
• Accountable for the Community Partnerships portfolio's annual fundraising performance, including annual fundraising production, revenue, retention and acquisition goals.

• Refine and implement comprehensive guidelines, cultivation and engagement strategies for CAMH Foundation's community partners, third-party event organizers, donors and prospects.

• Identify and ensure cross-selling opportunities from all audiences and for all fundraising streams across CAMH Foundation.

FUNDRAISING STRATEGY & OPERATIONS

• Work as a senior member of the Corporate and Community Partnerships team, critically involved in developing and implementing the team's fundraising plans in support of CAMH Foundation's strategic direction and goals.
• Develop and implement the community partnerships strategy that includes business development and building out a pipeline of community organizations and groups with an affinity for the mental health cause.
• Responsible for all aspects of community partnerships fundraising including strategic oversight, planning and resourcing, commissioning and managing vendors or other third parties, fundraising production and revenue, supporter retention and acquisition, volunteer engagement, and expenses.
• Establish and maintain an in-depth understanding of key audiences and partners.
• Prepare and deliver robust feasibility research for new proposed fundraising initiatives, identifying opportunities to maximize revenue and engagement with diverse audiences (including the mental health community) in line with CAMH Foundation's strategic direction and goals.

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

• Consistently model CAMH Foundation's values, contributing to a positive culture and successful relationships with key stakeholders including CAMH, volunteers, donors, and prospects.
• Serve as a member of CAMH Foundation's senior leadership team to contribute to a high-performing team.
• Work in partnership with CAMH executive leaders, staff, clinicians, and research colleagues to support the advancement of top community partnerships and fundraisers.
• Represent the Corporate and Community Partnerships team on various CAMH Foundation working groups.
• Undertake relevant training to remain at the forefront of industry standards.
• Contribute to in-house training to build CAMH Foundation staff knowledge of community fundraising and events.
• Develop collaborative and effective working relationships with colleagues across the organization including Marketing and Donor Engagement, Finance and Operations (including Prospect Research), and Philanthropy.

DATA, REPORTING & ADMINISTRATION

• Regularly and proactively report on progress towards individual and team fundraising goals.
• Collect and assess KPI data to inform decision-making and recommendations to improve team performance.
• Work with the Director (Finance) to manage program budgets, report performance and variances, and work with the Chief Partnerships Officer to plan, forecast, re-forecast, and conduct contingency planning.
• Keep abreast of relevant legislation, emerging trends, and best practices to develop the necessary internal policies, procedures, and guidelines accordingly.
• Ensure all fundraising plans and activities are developed and implemented to the highest standard and in such ways as to protect and enhance the organization's reputation with internal and external stakeholders.

• A post-secondary degree in a relevant field, and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience preferably in a large, complex not-for-profit organization such as a hospital or university or a combination of education and experience that is deemed equivalent.
• Fundraising qualification an asset (e.g., CFRE, ACFRE).
• Demonstrated senior fundraising and partnerships strategy experience with proven people leadership experience managing direct reports, and coaching of community volunteers preferably in the non-profit sector or similar industry/role.
• Track record of developing and leading new and creative flagship fundraising events and supporting major community third-party fundraisers.
• Significant experience creating and managing annual plans including the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of budgets, targets, and associated qualitative information.
• Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong fundraising and project management skills, especially focused on fundraising events and community third-party fundraisers.
• Experience using Raiser's Edge or an equivalent fundraising database.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
• Excellent relationship management skills, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Highly organized, ability to multi-task and work efficiently.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including attending community events in the evenings and on weekends.
• Knowledge of the Canadian charitable sector, including fundraising best practices and new emerging trends.
• Commitment and desire to make a difference, especially in the mental health community.

Salary Range: $129,429 to $160,195 annually
