Posting Summary
This position is eligible for 100% remote work. The Team Lead Research Administrator will lead and facilitate the central research administration team creating a framework for a consistent and coordinated approach to sponsored project administration. In collaboration with the Asst. Director for Proposal Submission and Award Administration, the Lead will be responsible for operating a professional customer focused central research administration team that is synchronized in process and procedures. Collaborate and partner with SPA 2.0 and unit departments to continuously improve process, policies and procedures, generating an efficient and effective research administration infrastructure allowing our researchers to focus on conducting research.
The Lead will influence and support central functions of proposal submission and award administration in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies. Independently provide administrative and functional supervision for central research administrators. Lead and implement continuous improvement activities; streamline processes, oversee the development of tools and documentation of procedures for central administration. Provide on-boarding and training for central and unit pre-award administrators. Serve as liaison to internal and external constituents on complex internal/external policy, procedural and process information pertaining to the area of responsibility. Manage a complex grant portfolio, perform all aspects of proposal development and submission, and non-financial post-award functions.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree and six years of government, non-profit or higher education experience required. Experience in complex research administration, grant and contract proposal submission management required. Budget building and spreadsheet proficiency required. Demonstrated customer service experience required. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written required. Analytical skills and effective presentation skills required. Experience in employee supervision required.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range
$75,000 - $85,000
