We’re looking for a Senior Principal Architect - Integrations and Data Value to provide architectural leadership for our Integrations and Data Value areas. As a Senior Principal Architect, you will begin with a focus on leading one or both of the Integrations or the Data Value Areas for Arctic Wolf. For Integrations, you will be responsible for accelerating integrations development with third-party security providers, by providing insight on how each integration will be used, leading a blueprint for improving the efficiency and quality of integration development, ingestion, parsing, detection rules, and schema decisions, and designing frameworks for understanding integration health and coverage, and regulating for protection and data value. For Data Value, you will be responsible for defining our data value based on what we’re promising to customers, what data we need to fulfill those promises, what we’re using, and how much it costs. This will include defining frameworks and concrete measures of how much it costs us to store and process data on a per-customer basis, insights into what data we can drop at different stages of our pipeline, and what data provides us value for our detections, security investigations, and its impact on customer outcomes. In these related areas, you'll be responsible for providing architectural and thought leadership and may subsequently move to other areas of focus. About the Role: As a Senior Principal Architect at Arctic Wolf, you are a member of the Architecture team and lead the architectural and technical vision of an R&D department for Arctic Wolf's production products. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders and existing development teams to build and own the architectural strategy. You indirectly influence all of the product team and will be responsible for guiding and coaching technical leaders across multiple domains and partnering closely with the teams that own the tech stack. Your role is to work on issues that impact program success or address future concepts and products, requiring a longer-term view to meet strategic goals and objectives, and requiring evaluation based on limited information, and exercising independent judgment of the trade-offs involved. You serve as an expert in the field and principal advisor and thought leader, applying extensive knowledge of theories, practices, and design to your architectural analysis and recommendations. You lead the application of existing principles and are central to introducing novel and innovative solutions for your department. Your Responsibilities Include: The vision and strategy in your focused area. Working across the product team and partners and stakeholders outside of the product team to define and execute on that area and how that area rolls up to support the company’s overall strategic vision. Owning the technical and architectural vision, product design, and architectural decisions within your architecture area. Providing insight and understanding to architects and R&D for their realm of expertise, and to keep abreast of new developments. Analyzing, recommending, and developing POCs and prototypes of architecture designs, technologies, 3rd party tools, and integrations. Identifying and evaluating trade-offs between various architectural decisions to inform design choices. Providing technical oversight, guidance, and coaching to architects, product management, developers, and engineers. Ensuring that our software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc. Contributing to all levels of architecture applicable to their realm of expertise. About You: You are an expert Architect, Software Developer, or technical leader who oversees multiple architecture domains across an organization. You have proven technical leadership experience and learnings from previous projects, regardless of title held. You have been central in introducing novel and innovative solutions, have experience writing software, and have deep knowledge across multiple domains. You enjoy learning new concepts, technology research, and experimentation. You are a mentor to technical leaders across multiple domains and coach to architects and developers. You are comfortable communicating technical ideas to audiences of different skill levels, including to executive leadership. You create formal networks with key decision makers and are widely recognized as an expert and thought leader. Required Skills and Experience: Experience designing frameworks for ingest, event streaming, and API architectures, and measurement and analysis of streaming data pipeline and data lake architectures operating at 100’s billion+ messages per day. Experience working with endpoint, network, and cloud cybersecurity and/or other vendor integrations. Experience with data analytics, mining, and interpreting data to identify data value, and predict future growth. Understanding of security assessment and detection rules, security investigations, and SOC workflows. Experience with schema management, data lineage, regulating for protection, quota, and data value. Experience creating third-party and self-service ecosystem for vendor integration and development and/or familiarity with edge compute, AWS, flow control, network traffic flow logs, DNS, infrastructure scanning technologies. Proven history of technical leadership of successful projects and lessons learned from failures. History of being central to introducing novel and innovative solutions. Knowledge of current industry and emerging technologies, to compare against and innovate on these technologies. Experience in technical architecture, system architecture, solution architecture, and enterprise architecture. Experience in software development with Golang, Python, Java, or a similar high-level language. Mastery of technical details, best practices, and design patterns across multiple domains. History of making and defending effective decisions using data and research, and accepting feedback. Proven history of explaining technical concepts using audience-specific language for audiences with different technical skill levels. Previous security experience is preferred but not required. We provide all the cybersecurity training you need during onboarding and on-the-job training. Interview Process: Phone pre-screening: A recruiter and an R&D manager will contact you to briefly discuss your work history and provide an overview of Arctic Wolf. Approximately 30 minutes. Technical assessment: A recruiter sends you a link to a straightforward technical assessment that is relevant to the role you are applying for. Approximately 1 hour. Face-to-face interviews: Several team members conduct two interviews to learn more about you and conduct a technical review based on the assessment completed. Be prepared to collaborate on a technical problem and talk more about past projects and your career goals. Approximately 1.5 hours combined for interviews. Final Review: R&D Director or Manager for an interested team will connect to describe the team, projects, and ensure a final fit with the team.
