Transitioning Communities to Green Energy with Expertise and Innovation. Job Description: Commercial Bioenergy Inc. (CBE) is currently hiring a Procurement Manager for our Bioenergy solutions. We are looking for a passionate Procurement Leader for a high-growth potential business environment. The Procurement Manager reports to the Project Manager. This role will be responsible for obtaining and delivering the required project materials, consumables, and equipment as per specifications. This individual will ensure the best sourcing and purchasing practices, best price(s), facilitate on-time delivery and quality assurance. Job Responsibilities: Lead and analyze the company’s procurement policies. Develop the requirements for product and service purchases for the company. Regularly update executives about the actions of the procurement department. Create strategies for increasing supply chain efficiency. Make payments to vendors while maintaining the company’s/project budgets. Identify the procurement needs of the entire organization. Manage direct procurement processes, including the purchasing or obtaining raw materials, resources, goods, and services for manufactured goods. Manage indirect procurement, including the purchasing of goods, services, supplies, and materials needed for daily operations. Create RFQs and oversee competitive bidding cycles. Manage procurement budgets, strategies, and payment processes. Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies and policies for the purchasing of equipment, goods, and services. Manage the procure-to-pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, invoicing, and paying for goods and services. Evaluate and strategically source potential suppliers. Devise initiatives to drive procurement performance. Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure the best deals and terms. Maintain advantageous relationships with suppliers and manage disputes. Monitor supplier performance for optimal business operations performance. Ensure the timeliness and effectiveness of goods and services. Forecast to predict future demand for goods, services, and purchase requisitions. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure procurement needs are met. Finalize purchase details and approve purchase requests and purchase orders. Track key metrics and KPIs to reduce costs. Analyze procurement data, conduct spending analysis and prepare reports. Streamline the organization’s business travel process, including ensuring the best corporate management rates and maintain compliance. Optimize workflows and automation processes to save time and money. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and laws. Incorporate new procurement software, e-procurement processes, and business processes when necessary. Lead the procurement department, including a team of procurement officers and other team members. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Monitor industry trends and developments. Qualifications/Skills: Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a similar role, involving (renewable) energy projects with a mechanical, electrical, and/or civil, structural scope. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related designation is preferred. Previous supervision experience is an asset. Excellent knowledge of sourcing, procurement, and delivery processes. Proficient with MS 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Sage X3 is an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Highly organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks. Fluency in both written and oral English and French is required.
