The result: a quality product that’s built right – the first time.About The RoleWe are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to contribute to multi-phase, mix-use, masterplan located in Richmond. This high-profile venture includes extensive retail spaces, modern office environments, and vibrant community areas. In this role, you will assist in managing project schedules, tracking daily progress, and ensuring that all construction activities align with project specifications and client expectations.Key responsibilities:Assist the Superintendent in managing work on site to ensure the compliance of construction drawings and specifications;Support with administering contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed;Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues, working collaboratively with Project Manager to resolve issues;Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work;Ensure sufficient labour resources are provided to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives;Maintain daily field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates and other construction documentation;Ensure all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the company safety policies.What You BringThe ideal Assistant Superintendent candidate is a career-driven, results-oriented construction professional destined for field operations. You have the experience and confidence to engage professionally when interacting with the design professionals, consultants, clients and other internal and external stakeholders. You are looking to join a well-established builder with large portfolio of different project types. You thrive independently, but are as equally effective in a team-oriented environment. You has strong relationships and references from previous trade partners and understand these partnerships will be crucial to your long-term success with Axiom Builders. You believe in the long-term potential of our organization and you share in our company values of humility, accountability, respect and hard work.Skills and ExperienceFour to five (4-5) years of experience working on high-rise concrete projects with a sub-trade or general contractor;Previous construction experience in a multi-phase, residential or mixed-use high-rise site will be considered a major asset;Solid history of seeing a construction project from preconstruction to project completion;Proficiency in reviewing structural drawings, blueprints and construction documents;Strong ability and proven experience to work effectively with a site crew of various sizes;Red Seal Carpentry ticket or construction related education will be considered an asset;Your RewardsWe’re committed to the success and development of our people and recognize that they are the drivers behind our success.
