Accounts Payable Officer, Finance and Risk PerformanceSalary: Commensurate with experienceABOUT THE ROLE:Health Standards Organization (HSO) is looking for an Accounts Payable Officer reporting to the Assistant Controller for the accurate and timely fulfillment of HSO’s financial obligations towards staff, surveyors, government and other vendors. You have an eye for numbers and will not shy away from juggling multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment that is growing globally!You have a diverse financial background, combined with your insatiable desire to adopt innovation; you’re ready to come to the table with solutions.Main Responsibilities:In-depth understanding of the Accounts Payable cycle and applicable internal controls, ability to apply your knowledge to meet operational challenges while providing outstanding customer service to internal and external clients.Analyzing and verifying accuracy of purchase orders, invoices, statements and other related documents.Crossing your T’s and dotting your I’s when verifying vendor accounts and working with other documentation related to Accounts Payable, in accordance with established policies and procedures.Collaborating for results. Our team has rich talent and deep expertise to strengthen you in your role.Contributing positively to the culture of our workplace by staying positive, engaged in the work you do and energized by the difference you’re making.Assist with month-end close activities and reconciliations.Must Have Qualifications:University degree or College diploma in Accounting, Business or similar field.2 years of full cycle Accounts Payable experience.Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.Have great technical chops (Microsoft Business Central or other ERP systems, intermediate Excel, Microsoft 365).You thrive in a fast-paced environment.Desired Qualifications:Have industry knowledge and experience (public and/or private health care, in Canada or globally).Have experience with purchase order management.Are highly organized, boundlessly energetic, detail-oriented, and analytically curious.Know your way around data systems, specifically Microsoft Business Central.Bilingual in both oral and written English and French.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:In Your First 30-90 Days:Complete our orientation program with other new hires to learn about HSO, our values of trust, inclusion, collaboration, innovation and learning, and our mission of quality improvement in healthcare and social services.Set your performance and learning objectives for the year in collaboration with your people manager.Meet regularly with your people manager to discuss your learning progression and alignment for your accountabilities.Take on assigned initiatives or projects for your role.Be adept at recording financial transactions related to accounts payable and reconciling the A/P subledgers with the general ledger to ensure accurate reporting.Prepare and process payments to vendors and staff according to HSO’s policy and procedures.What We Can Offer To You:Competitive compensation and benefits, including a defined benefit pension plan.Time off programs, including office shutdown during last week of December.A culture that measures and values psychological safety, inclusion and engagement.WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO:Health Standards Organization (HSO) and our affiliates Accreditation Canada (AC) and the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) are global, not-for-profit, revenue generating organizations.
