The firm is well-established with a large and diverse client base.We have an immediate opening for a CPA to join our team of accounting and assurance professionals.The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed environment in the areas of accounting, assurance, and taxation. Experience working with small and medium-sized businesses, not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, and charities will be highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years post-qualification and recent experience in a public accounting environment at a high level of responsibility. In-depth knowledge and experience with Canadian accounting and assurance standards, as well as Canadian corporate and personal tax, are prerequisites.Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to use current industry-standard software and tools, as well as the ability to adapt to emerging best practices. Specific tools relevant to this position include Caseware/Caseview, Profile, Sage, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel and Word.Primary duties will include direct involvement in all assurance levels of financial statements, tax preparation, and compliance work as it relates to personal and corporate taxes, as well as payroll and other filings.Opportunities for career advancement, including potential partnership, are excellent within our firm for those who demonstrate ongoing high performance.Compensation will be commensurate with the qualifications of the successful candidate and will include access to a comprehensive benefits package, which includes paid sick leave, paid annual family leave, a group RRSP plan, health and dental plan, and paid professional memberships and courses.We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience with a Canadian CPA firm; however, more recent CPAs are also encouraged to apply.
