Maintenance Team

Maintenance Team Maria Montessori Academy is an independent school located in the Gordon Head area of Victoria. We are seeking a hardworking, conscientious person to join our Maintenance and Janitorial team. This is a full time position, and there is some flexibility on hours. The successful candidate will join a team comprised of two full time maintenance/janitorial staff and share the task of cleaning and maintaining our school building and grounds. Qualifications: 18 months experience working in a similar job Clean Criminal record check Grade 12 graduation or equivalent The successful candidate must be: Friendly and communicative Reliable / punctual and able to complete tasks without supervision detail oriented Have excellent communication skills Organized Work conditions & physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks Handling heavy loads Physically demanding Bending, crouching, kneeling Tasks: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallway, floors, and stairs Empty trash cans and other waste containers Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings Make adjustments and minor repairs to various systems within the school Perform minor repairs on furniture and appliances Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures Work with minimal supervision Clean ice and snow from walkways and parking areas and clean parking lot Perform general field and site maintenance Cut grass Resumes and cover letters should be directed to the principal of Maria Montessori Academy by email: [email protected] and/or [email protected] We thank all interested candidates, but only those shortlisted for an interview will be contacted.
