We are seeking a motivated Dual Credit Enhancement Project Lead to join our team in the Kootenay Boundary Dual Credit Enhancement Partnership, consisting of School Districts 6 and 8, as well as Post-Secondary Institution Partner, College of the Rockies. The Dual Credit Enhancement Project Lead will be responsible for facilitating the enhancement of dual credit programs across the partnering districts and the post-secondary institution. This position offers opportunity to lead innovative dual credit initiative that support student success and post-secondary transitions in the Kootenay Boundary region. This a temporary, one year position beginning October 1, 2024.Responsibilities: Collaborate with school districts, post-secondary institution and community partners to build shared capacity towards offering more dual credit opportunities. Align and standardize dual credit agreements between the post-secondary institution and school districts within the Kootenay Boundary region to establish a cohesive framework for contractual relationships and partnerships. Coordinate with various stakeholders to promote dual credit offerings to students, educator, parents and community stakeholders through diverse marketing strategies and platforms. Collaborate with post-secondary institution to identify new course offerings that align with the needs of dual credit students. Identify opportunities to scale up dual credit availability in rural and remote school communities and support post-secondary institutions in the process. Ensure that new or expanded dual credit offerings are accessible and inclusive for Indigenous students and students with disabilities or diverse abilities. Engage with school counsellors and school-based team members to build capacity and understanding of dual credit programming to identify and plan for moving students into the dual credit stream. Facilitate youth and parent engagement events in communities to promote dual credit programs. Maintain project budget in alignment with project objectives. Completion of required reporting on collective program expansion spending, activities and deliverables, including forecasting future program growth.Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred. Teaching experience in K - 12 education, dual credit programs and/or post-secondary programs. Knowledge of Ministry of Education and Child Care dual credit policies, procedures and best practices. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Experience working with Indigenous communities, and integrating local First Nations perspectives in programming is an asset.
