We are currently seeking a talented individual to lead the Student Support Services team. This position provides leadership to professional support staff, focusing on the development and implementation of programs for students with diverse learning needs. This role integrates First Nations ways of knowing, being and doing into program development and implementation, ensuring that these cultural perspectives are incorporated. The Director manages and evaluates the creation and effective delivery of student services and programs, particularly for students with diverse needs across Yukon. The Director ensures the efficient and effective delivery of student support services by overseeing a comprehensive range of consultation services and activities. This includes embedding First Nations knowledge and practices into the consultation process, thereby enriching the support provided to students. This approach enables consultants and teachers to deliver culturally responsive and professional services and programs to all public schools, supporting students with diverse learning needs and aligning with the Department of Education’s goals of an inclusive environment. Essential Qualifications Coursework in Education, Special Education, Educational Administration, or a related field Experience in developing, leading, and managing a diverse team of consultants and staff Experience in strategic planning, organizational development and change management. Experience in development, implementation and evaluating programs. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with educators, parent, community members, First Nation communities and other stakeholders. Knowledge and incorporation of First Nations ways of knowing, being and doing in programs and services. Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
