What we need:
Reporting to the Manager, Health Information Management, Coding and Data Quality, this position will work both independently and in collaboration with other team members to ensure completeness and excellence in data quality and reporting for all Oak Valley Health sites.
Work schedule:
Monday - Friday 0900-1700. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

Range: $35.58 - $41.73
Responsibilities Monitor documentation practice and identify errors for corrections and resolutions as per the documentation standards and guidelines.
Ensure the provision of accurate and quality data from all stakeholders for decision making, external reporting and of benchmarks (e.g., Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), Cancer Care Ontario, etc.).
Perform data quality audits (e.g., Point of Care scanning) and analysis to help identify solutions to data quality and data validation problems and implement preventative measures.
Identify trends and outliers in data, follow-up with end-users and managers to ensure standards of practice are maintained.
Coordinate and monitor the data quality activities initiated from the Data Quality and Analytics Committee and act as a co-facilitator for the meetings.
Maintain accuracy and timeliness in completion of the HIM Dashboard by working closely with the HIM Team Leads.
Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the Corporate Data Quality Scorecard and make recommendations to implement strategies for continuous quality improvement.
Evaluate and monitor HIM project(s) progress and measure project performance using necessary tools and techniques.
Commit to, and actively work to remain knowledgeable and up to date in the assigned field.
Challenge the status quo and recommend innovative ways to improve reporting process efficiency and quality.
Requirements Completion of a recognized relevant university degree in healthcare or business.
Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analytics, visualization, and reporting.
Ability to translate business statistical concepts into the data/information realm along with strong analytical skills.
Experience with relational database structures and the extraction and manipulation of data using Microsoft SQL, Power BI, or Cristal Reports.
Proficient in using MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
Sound organizational and project planning skills with the ability to multi-task and adjust to a fast-paced environment to meet conflicting deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision and also possessing a positive team-spirited attitude.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff including physicians, patient service leaders, Ministry representatives and various other internal/external client groups.
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
Adhering to confidentiality and privacy requirements for sensitive financial and clinical information.
Considered an asset:
2 or more years of previous relevant healthcare and process analysis and data analysis.
Demonstrated knowledge of patient registration and health Information management.
Experience working with hospital administrative data (DAD, NACRS, OMHRS, NRS, and CCRS) and other large healthcare datasets (e.g., IntelliHealth).
Experience in process mapping and using Ms. Visio.
Prior experience in working with SharePoint and a Business intelligent tool, particularly Power BI.
Background and experience in working with hospital Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specially Meditech Expanse.
Certified Health Information Management Professional and member of Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
