Assistant Front Store Manager (Taber, AB)Part Time / Full TimeTo assist the Front Store Manager (FSM) in managing the human, physical, and financial resources of the store and in ensuring that store objectives are achieved by focusing on improving product flow from the backroom to the sales floor.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:OperationsSupports Loss Prevention processes related to cash management and Front Store processes to minimize risk.Participates in hiring/onboarding of new cashiers.Ensures all Cash staff have completed cash training and customer service training through SDMU.Identifies and trains Supervisors from existing cashiers where possible.Follows up with Supervisors to ensure communication cascade for evening, weekend huddles and timely updates as required.Updates Process Board with tasks from store walk.Ensures tasks get accomplished in a timely fashion.Ensures that backroom inventory management initiative (BIMI) is to standard at all times.Generates daily low stock report and provides to merchandisers/section captains.Communicates expected deliveries with receiver to develop an action plan for receiving.Role models and monitors adherence to receiving principles focusing on totes first and sorting techniques.Customer ServiceProactively engages customers with increased focus during peak traffic times.Assists FSM to ensure all product-related processes are implemented effectively.Highlights new products, reinforces with staff the need to share upcoming events with customers, recognizes CSI performers during Daily Huddle / Shift.Coaches and trains all new merchandising hires on Store Standards.Ensures that exceptional customer service is provided beyond expectation, as outlined in the Store Operating Standards.Ensures employees present proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines.Answers inquiries (i.e., location of product, rainchecks) and resolves customer complaints according to guidelines.Demonstrates product knowledge and familiarity with location of products throughout the store.Empowers employees to ensure customer satisfaction.Marketing and MerchandisingOversees implementation of store marketing programs.Spotlights new or exclusive products at daily huddles.Ensures staff know about upcoming events to share with customers.Recognizes CSI performers.Oversees PC Optimum program including communication of performance and review and follows up of individual operator ID performance for sign-ups and email captures.Assists the FSM in adherence to all marketing programs and initiatives, which may include:Planograms, core programs, and merchandising techniques.Flyer implementation and local advertising initiatives.Creates and maintains proper displays to reflect seasonal and promotional programs.Ensures value events are set-up and taken down according to schedule.Works with FSM to ensure signage in the store reflects current programs, policies, and procedures.Responsible for replenishment orders in absence of FSM.Human ResourcesAssists in the hiring process for Front End Cashiers/Supervisors (recommend to FSM).Ensures staff is properly trained in all aspects of their role and provides on-going coaching and instructions.Assists in ongoing employee performance management and development, including performance reviews, progressive discipline with FSM.Complies with employment legislation.Ensures employees comply with all policies and procedures.FinanceAssists in achieving projected sales growth targets.Assists in effective expense management.GeneralComplies with all health and safety regulations.Complies with all store policies and procedures.Complies with loss prevention policies and procedures and ensures they are executed in the department.Ensures Store Standards are followed.Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to Shoppers Drug Mart franchised business and its operation.Performs other duties as assigned.Management/Supervision/LeadershipProvides support to all non-Rx parties within the local store.Provides direction under the guidance of FSM.QUALIFICATIONSPlanning, Judgement and Decision MakingIndependent thinking and decision making – Makes decisions when dealing with issues or problems that occur when the FSM is not available.
