Together, they work as ‘One Murphy’ - directly delivering the people, plant, and expertise needed to make projects a success.Pressure Testing & Pre-Commissioning Engineer – LeedsMurphy is currently recruiting for a Pressure Testing & Pre-Commissioning Engineer to join our award-winning Energy team at the Pipeline Testing & Welding Services site in Leeds. Our team is known for its extensive in-house expertise and continual drive to innovate within the industry. The Pressure Testing and Pre-Commissioning Engineer will need to be commercially aware and possess a strong Mechanical Engineering bias with a clear focus on technical integrity/process safety.The role will require technical and commercial input into the tendering phase, through contract review, production of method statements, coordination of risk assessments and project documentation, supporting calculations, and handover to operations. Following the ‘One Murphy’ approach, we’re able to deliver all aspects of the projects we work on. Murphy has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients including Grid, Cadent Gas, OPA, SGN, and Grid Ventures, on both transmission and distribution networks. Our projects include Compressor stations, Natural Gas and LNG Terminals, AGI’s, pipelines, and diversions.What you will be doing:Preparation and control of all detailed engineering procedures, systems, RAMS, plans, and specialist equipment for the pressure testing & pre-commissioning operations.Be the point of technical contact for all external clients and manage project costs/variations with liaison with the internal commercial team as necessary.Ensure all operations assigned comply with Murphy Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental expectations policies and procedures.Guide and mentor staff within function ensuring they are working within safe guidelines.Coordinate constructability input during solutions identification and development phase.Liaise with the Project Managers to ensure that the construction resource pool is an appropriate size, with an appropriate blend of skill-sets, for the projected workload.Ensure that all pressure testing activities are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.Ensure that all temporary and permanent construction and installation activities are carried out in accordance with quality procedures.Interface with all other functional leaders within the organisation to facilitate successful development of the project from solution stage constructability through construction, installation, commissioning, and handover to the client.Who are we looking for?Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.Experience within the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industry.Experience in Cryogenic Nitrogen, LN2 converters, hoses, tanks & vaporisers.Knowledge of Mechanical calculations from first principles, Pipeline Codes & Standards, Pressure Testing, Pipeline Pigging, Pig Trap/Test End Design etc.What you’ll get in return:Dedicated and continued investment in your professional development.27 days holiday, plus bank holidays with the option to buy an additional 2 days holiday each year; holidays increase with length of service.Discretionary annual bonus and annual salary review.Above market rate contributory pension scheme.Life assurance, health screening, and enhanced sick pay.Enhanced maternity and paternity pay and a maternity returners bonus.Extra weeks holiday for all employees getting married and a wedding bonus.Subsidised canteen facilities in core locations.Other Murphy benefits include retail discounts and cashback, discounted gym memberships, cycle to work scheme etc.About MurphyCharity is at the heart of Murphy values; you will receive 2 days leave per year to donate your time to a charity of your choosing.
