Intermediate QA Analyst? - This is a Unionized full-time hourly based position - 36.25 hour work week. If hired for this position you will be part of a union and required to pay applicable union dues. Hybrid environment - 2 days in downtown Toronto office. What You’ll Be Doing The POLARIS II Development Team continues to grow and looking for an Intermediate QA Analyst who will be responsible for all aspects of software changes to POLARIS II application to ensure conformance to Teranet standards for promotion from development through to production; maintaining a set of standard test cases; participating and advising on testing efforts; and maintaining the core knowledge in the use of Teranet testing tools and products. · Accountable for quality of the code promoted to production. · Define testing strategy to measure the impact on new systems, enhancements to existing systems or the impact system releases have on the production environment. The criteria must be established in conjunction with end users. Criteria must be meaningful, measurable and established early in the project life cycle. · Design, develop and maintain a set of test cases for each production system in use. These test cases will be used to complete any regression testing which may be required. The test cases will be continually adjusted to reflect product changes. · Architect, design, develop and maintain automation test suite. · Develop thorough domain knowledge of the products to be able to develop and/or review of test cases and test strategies · Conduct performance testing (Load Test, Durability Test, Test Harness). · Test products for operational readiness. · Facilitate the communication of end user problems and to the various technical teams. · Provide assistance to testing efforts from client applications. · Participate, facilitate and assist the coordinated testing efforts with other teams in regards to regression and load tests. · Maintain and report on problem logs during the testing phases of system releases. · Create and maintain Automated Regression Test scripts for the systems. · Review of any problem tickets, which may be reported by users to determine nature of problem and possible cause. Review tickets to determine if the ticket is a problem or service/change request. · Implement security policies as set out by Teranet's Security Officer. · Utilize accessibility testing methodologies, tools, techniques, and assistive technologies to ensure accessible content test in accordance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA), W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A, AA, AAA) and Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) · Other related duties as directed About You A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline would be an asset 5+ years of software quality assurance / testing experience Strong knowledge in multiple software testing techniques Thorough understanding of automated testing tools (ALM Quality Center, QuickTest Professional, LoadRunner, Rapid Platform, TestIM). Strong knowledge of software configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Gerrit, Jira etc.). Experience in accessibility testing in a medium to large organization. Experience as a multiple dimensional and functional QA with experience in the entire life cycle of projects Understanding of smoke testing and sanity testing Experience with white and black box testing Expert knowledge of WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 AA requirements Professional accessibility training or certification Proven experience working with WAI-ARIA authoring guidelines and best practices. Proven experience working with accessible design best practices. Proven experience using accessibility evaluation tools and frameworks (e.g., Axe, MS Accessibility Insights, WAVE, Developer Tools etc) Proven experience using assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver etc) Experience with PDF accessibility testing. Strong knowledge of requirements management software Blueprint. Knowledge of multi-tier web application architecture. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to function as part of a team and interact with different groups. Clear demonstration of initiative, dependability, job knowledge, productivity and quality Ability to work well under pressure, manage conflicting priorities, be a quick learner and have strong problem-solving skills.
