Role: Engineering Manager

Salary: CAD$200K- CAD$260K + large equity
This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join the founding engineering team at an early stage startup that sits at the intersection of Mobility and Payments! They have developed a SaaS platform that is powering the next generation of smart commuting, by allowing access to the largest collection of sustainable mobility programs all in one place, including helping companies set up commuter benefits platforms. They're also backed by top Silicon Valley investors!
The ideal candidate will come from a payments company and be a player/coach - have experience managing small engineering teams whilst remaining hands on, contributing to the development of their software platform with a full stack background. Experience working at smaller startups + wearing multiple hats is a massive plus!

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 3 full stack engineers, providing technical direction and guidance
- Act as technical lead of organization, owning the architecture of their software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Develop high-quality code in Django and React/Typescript
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 9+ years of experience in a full-stack development role
- 3+ years experience in a Tech Lead role managing engineering teams
- 5+ years experience backend programming in Django, Python, Node.js or Ruby on Rails or equivalent (must be happy to work in Django for role)
- 2+ years experience frontend programming in Javascript frameworks
- 4 years+ experience working at a payments company
- Strong experience with web frameworks, web services, API design, and development.
- Highly motivated, have a strong sense of ownership, and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
