At V Eatery, you can experience authentic delicious Vietnamese cuisine from tasty appetizers to variety of rice combo and vermicelli noodle dishes. We are currently seeking an experienced Vietnamese Cuisine Cook to join our restaurant.Position Details: Location: 146 Guelph Street, Georgetown, Ontario Canada L7G 4A6 Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible. Salary Expectation: $18 per hour Working Hours: permanent position, full-time by shift (40hr/week) Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation per Calendar year Position: 1 vacancy Language: EnglishJob Duties and Responsibilities: • Prepare and complete Vietnamese authentic dishes by following recipes: cutting, chopping, stirring, and mixing ingredients; and adding seasonings; verifying taste; and plating dishes. • Prepare, measure, mix ingredients and ensure all orders are of excellent quality and served in a timely manner. • Assist to improve and plan menus and daily specials within established budget and availability of seasonal ingredients. • Maintain work schedule for kitchen staff/helper to ensure smooth and effective flow of activities in the kitchen. • Assist to lead, mentor, and manage kitchen staffs/helpers and oversee kitchen operations. • Maintain and manage budget and inventory by taking stock of ingredients and equipment. • Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas and enforce safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen. • Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations. • Assist and participate in interview process and selection of kitchen staff, as well as training staff to prepare and cook the menu items.Job Requirements: • Completion of secondary education is required. • Minimum 3 years related working experience as cook/chief specialized in authentic Vietnamese cuisine is required. • Any certification in cooking/culinary is considered as added advantage. • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.We thank you for your interest and welcome different underrepresented groups to apply, including but not limited to Indigenous persons, vulnerable youth, persons with disabilities, newcomers, and asylum seekers with valid work permit.Please send your resume to [email protected] , reference Cook 2024 in the subject line.
