Sommelier

Position: Sommelier, Araxi Reports to:  Restaurant Director JOB SUMMARY: Toptable Group?is seeking a Sommelier to join our professional, celebrated, and respected wine and service team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with iconic wines and hard to find labels while assisting in building our world class wine list. This is a great opportunity to develop wine knowledge and prowess while also establishing a solid service foundation on which to build in the future. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   (other duties may be assigned as required)  Serve as an educator, as well as an inspirational, committed, and responsible leader to the restaurant’s front-of-house teams; inspire staff to deliver a memorable beverage experience  Display a passion for and about wine and the industry  Handle rare and limited product with precise table side manner  Deliver superior customer service through effective training and education  Lead by example by delivering superior consistent customer service and hospitality  Consult with guests to assist in selection of wines  Maintain wine list, cellar, and other storage areas; monitor inventory and?expenses  Develop strong rapport with vendors, agents, and wineries REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:   2 years of previous management experience Minimum level 3 WSET or equivalent  Highly committed to a premium level of service and precise table side manners  Knowledgeable on food and wine pairings, as well as a passion for terroir  Strong verbal and written English communication skills  Superior conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners  Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to analyze current business problems and implement recommended solutions Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
