This is a full-time position based in Halifax, NS that will require travel during the work week. The primary responsibilities of the role will be:Managing development activities for new and existing utility-scale renewable energy projects across CanadaEnsuring project success through several phases from inception to operationsManaging project schedules and budgets for a variety of projectsLiaising with several team leaders to coordinate project worksManaging third-party consultant and contractor contractsFostering and maintaining relationships with a diverse set of regulators, stakeholders, rightsholders, etc.KEY TASKS & DUTIESLeading projects through development to ensure the projects are being developed in consideration of all requirements to meet expected targetsCreating and managing project budgets and scheduling of works from project inception to construction to minimize risk and impactsConducting risk management planningDeveloping strategies with internal resources to complete works required to advance the projectLeading, fostering and maintaining relationships with rightsholders, community members, stakeholders, utilities, regulators, consultants, contractors, involved with the projectsWriting technical plans, memos, reports and presentations relating to the projects and their progressAdvise on the identification and feasibility of new renewable energy projectNegotiate, revise, and prepare real property contracts with both individual and corporate landownersManage the completion of wind resource assessments for projects by third-party engineering firmsManage public, stakeholder, and rightsholder engagement and consultationComplete and manage interconnection applications with utility companiesSupport team members in strategizing and applying for various municipal, provincial, and federal permits and funding sourcesLead and write grant applications, funding applications, and requests for proposals for renewable energy projectsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS3-5 years of specific project management experience, preferably related to energy projectsPost-secondary degree with a background in engineering, planning, environmental science, or related combination of experience and educationBroad understanding for technical aspects of renewable energy projects, project development and relationship buildingSKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTSExcellent communicatorAction driven personalityResourceful, self motivatorTeam player who can work in dynamic groupsProblem solving and curiousThoughtful professional who builds relationshipsOTHER INFORMATIONDiversity, equity, and inclusion are critical to our clean energy mission.
