The incumbent will lead the continuous improvement and maintenance of the ministry's Business Continuity Program and Facility Emergency Response Program (FERP). This role ensures the ministry is compliant with GoA policies and that ministry plans are current and complete, tested, and executed efficiently. The position also plays a key role in liaising with Federal and Provincial partners to coordinate disaster financial assistance and disaster recovery programs.As the Manager, Business Continuity & Emergency Response Planning, the incumbent will have a role in planning, mitigating, responding to, and coordinating the department’s response to various incidents and will play a lead role in coordinating the department’s response to business continuity incidents. As emergencies and disasters may occur 24/7, the incumbent may be placed on standby and/or expected to work extended hours including some weekends and holidays.The Manager will be accountable for the continuous improvement and maintenance of Business Continuity and Facility Emergency Response Plans to ensure the delivery of ministry functions and services in the event of a service disruption or disaster. The incumbent will contribute to the development and execution of various training and information initiatives for ministry staff regarding their roles and responsibilities during incidents.Knowledge of facilities and occupational health and safety will assist the incumbent in developing, implementing, and maintaining the ministry's Facility Emergency Response Planning Program (FEPP). Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other managers and team members are imperative.
