The district enrolls approximately 22,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3500 dedicated staff. The Richmond School District is accepting applications for elementary and secondary qualified teachers in Learning Resource. All applicants must meet the following qualifications for Learning Resource teaching : Successful completion of a Bachelor of Education; Recent contract teaching experience and/or recent student teaching experience; Certified or eligible for certification with the Ministry of Education - Teacher Regulation Branch; Registration with Teacher Qualification Service (TQS). Required Learning Resource Qualifications (elementary and secondary) include : Completed or working towards completion of: Special Education Diploma Programme at UBC, or Queen's University Post Graduate Certificate in Training Learning Resource in BC, or An equivalent diploma/certificate from a recognized university A minimum of fifteen (15) credits in EPSE coursework from UBC, with at least three (3) credits in five of the following six areas: Meeting the needs of students with specific exceptionalities; Assessment, testing, theory and practice; Strategies for teaching, adapting, modifying curriculum to the diverse needs of students; Strategies for teaching students with Special Needs; Meeting the diverse behavioral and emotional needs of students; Computer technology for the classroom. Equivalent coursework from a recognized university. Compensation: Salary as per Teacher's Collective Agreement current salary range is $59,740 to $109,520 annually plus a comprehensive benefits package.
