Our client in Waterloo Region is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator with 1-2 years of experience to join their team in a full-time role!If you have 1-2 years experience in Health and Safety in manufacturing, then you could be the recipient of this position with a salary between 60-70K plus benefits, vacation.Required Skills:Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in manufacturingExperience with safety programs such as Lockout Tagout, hazard communication, and emergency response.Strong knowledge of OHSA and regulationsExcellent communication skills with the ability to conduct presentations confidentlyProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work independently and still be a great team memberExcellent organizational skills and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentJob Responsibilities:Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with all government rules and regulationsSupport the implementation of safety programs, including Lockout Tagout, machine guarding, and ergonomic assessments.Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards-recommend corrective actionsDevelop training materials, deliver safety training sessions for all employees and maintain recordsAssist in investigating workplace accidents, injuries, and near-missesPrepare detailed reports on incidents and recommend preventive actionsAnalyze safety data to identify opportunities for improvementParticipate in safety audits and regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.Maintain safety records and documentation as required by lawSupport the development and maintenance of emergency responseCoordinate emergency drills and ensure all employees are trained on emergency proceduresPromote a positive safety culture within the organization through communication, training, and recognition programs.Work with management and employees to foster a proactive approach to safetyParticipate in the JHSC and contribute to ongoing safetyPerform other duties as assignedIf you are a safety-conscious individual and you have 1-2 years of experience in a Health and Safety role in manufacturing, send your resume to: [email protected] River Personnel is committed to promoting accessibility for Ontarians with disabilities and complying with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and makes accommodations available for applicants with disabilities in its recruitment processes.
