The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Studio Manager to lead operations at our dual-soundstage facility. This role encompasses managing both our Virtual Production LED volume and traditional soundstage, along with a variety of bookable support rooms. Beyond facility management, the position extends to office administrative responsibilities, ensuring that all aspects of our studio operations are executed flawlessly. The successful candidate will be a pivotal figure in maintaining our studio’s reputation for excellence and supporting the creation of groundbreaking content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of both the Virtual Production LED volume and traditional soundstage, including, but not limited to, scheduling, maintenance, and ensuring the readiness of all facilities.
  • Manage the booking, use, and upkeep of various support rooms within the facility, optimizing their availability and functionality for production teams.
  • Facilitate hiring, training, and scheduling of staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations specific to both traditional and virtual production environments.
  • Handle office administrative duties, including shipping, couriers, organizing materials into templates, and ensuring contracts and documentation are properly managed.
  • Ensure needs are met for productions shot in our studios and facilitate a seamless production experience.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, quality of service, and studio competitiveness.
  • Manage financial aspects of studio operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Oversee the aesthetic updating of the space and renovation projects.
  • Interface with the HR department in regards to studio staff management.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, adopting new technologies and practices to keep the studio at the leading edge.
  • Implement and oversee an inventory management system.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Business Administration, or a related field, with a deep understanding of both traditional and virtual production technologies.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a studio or production environment, with a proven track record in managing complex operations.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, capable of handling both creative and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve problems effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic schedules of film production, including working outside regular office hours as needed.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software, equipment, and office productivity tools.
