ResponsibilitiesThe Risk Management Department contributes to the sustainable growth of the Societe Generale group through its expertise, understanding of risks, and risk management techniques. The department’s mission is to independently analyze, assess, manage and monitor risk-taking activities with the objective of achieving, together with the first line-of-defense, the best possible outcome for the bank. The department oversees the enterprise, strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, model, and other risks of the corporate and investment banking business activities.ABOUT THE JOB:The Enterprise Risk Management function which covers all risk types to which SG’s Americas operations (“SG AMER”) are exposed:Coordinate risk analysis reporting to various risk committees including SG's Enterprise Risk Committee, Executive Committee's Risk Committee, and SG's Board of Directors' Risk Committee.Establish and monitor adherence to Risk Appetite Statements for SG AMER and its business lines.Coordinate and enhance SG AMER's risk identification and assessment framework, conducting periodic risk identification and assessment campaigns.Coordinate and enhance SG AMER's stress testing framework, conducting periodic stress testing exercises.Oversee SG AMER's Strategic Risk management and Environmental & Social Risk management in a second line of defense role.Organize and monitor SG AMER's risk management framework, roles, and responsibilities for all lines of defense, and contribute to the development and usage of a GRC information system architecture across SG AMER.The Enterprise Risk Management function is responsible for identifying, measuring, assessing, monitoring, controlling, and reporting on all risks facing SG AMER. Enterprise risk management is a pro-active, continuous approach to risk management that provides SG AMER with a comprehensive, integrated view of its risks and enables management of risks across its operations consistently and in line with its business and strategic objectives.What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?The risk professional sought for this position will be a member of the Risk Appetite and Assessment (RAA) team being part of the SG AMER Enterprise Risk Management Team, reporting to the Head of Risk Appetite and Assessment who is located in New York.Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:Support the continued maturity and implementation of Enterprise-Wide Stress Testing and the oversight of the Strategic Risk program.Ensure oversight and effective challenge to all components (including Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Counterparty Risk, Financial Results and Scarce Resources, and Business Line specific inputs) leveraged within the Enterprise-Wide Stress Test program.Lead analytical capabilities across the Enterprise-Wide Stress program and Strategic Risk.Support the development and maintenance of an Enterprise-Wide Stress Testing methodology and appropriate documentation establishing consistency and minimum standards.Support the governance management of the Enterprise-Wide Stress Testing Committee.Maintain the design and needed flexibility of Enterprise-Wide Stress Testing data element requirements requisite as per U.S. rules and regulations applicable to stress testing.Mature capabilities and usage related to advanced data, reporting, and systems needed to support Enterprise-Wide Stress Testing.Coordinate and participate in the identification and impact assessment of risk scenarios that may affect the bank, and foster discussion with senior management and response to these scenarios.Participate in transformation projects related to Enterprise Wide Stress Testing and Strategic Risk.Coordinate across enterprise level Risk Committees self-assessment ratings and risk assessment output.Participate in ongoing maintenance of SG AMER’s Risk Appetite Statement including renewals (effective challenge, maintenance of metrics/limits, review & alignment to BL’s strategy, etc.).Assist in maintenance and enhancement of key documents including: policies, procedures, methodologies, training.Support overarching initiatives such as the remediation of independent findings (Regulatory, Testing, Audit).Assist in efforts to raise self-identified issues and the remediation of existing issues.Contribute to risk monitoring efforts including enhancement, development, utilization of risk analytics.Support transversal topics such as Regulatory Exams, change-the-bank activities, systems design, and presentations to Senior Management both in SG AMER and at Head Office level.Skills and Qualifications:Must Have:Ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in a relevant role with deep knowledge in risk management concepts and measurement techniques.Strong understanding of quantitative concepts and practices related to stress testing and key activities in large capital markets, including trading and lending.Prior involvement in project management, particularly innovation projects, is preferred.Strong MS Office skills and capability in cross-discipline data analytics using tools like Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or SAS.Experience supporting various risk types (credit, operational, market, liquidity) and underlying products.Ability to synthesize data for executive summary reports and deliver well-structured presentations.Master’s degree or equivalent in financial engineering, economics, actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or any related discipline.Strong communication, influencing, problem-solving skills, and ability to perform under pressure.Nice to Have:Experience with stress testing, risk modeling in any risk type, model validation, or any quantitative field with ability to clearly communicate outcomes/proposals to management considered a plus.Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.Due to US Federal Securities law applying to this position, candidates who will apply for this position will be required
