We believe in Building Better Lives and Better Communities through Better Properties. As Vice President Commercial Properties, you would be critical in delivering this vision. Working out of one of Canada’s largest Business Campuses, this position oversees the leasing, operations, physical condition, and financial performance of 1 million square feet at 4 locations with additional plans for growth and development. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Vice President of Commercial Properties is responsible for providing strategic direction for the day-to-day management of commercial properties. You will manage and conduct leasing activities including negotiations in alignment with BlueStone’s vision, values, and strategy. Once lease agreements are finalized, you will work closely with your team to ensure that client service standards are executed. Working collaboratively with the commercial property managers, commercial operations manager, and project manager, you will ensure a smooth transition from space planning services to the proposal to the executed lease through the build-out of leasehold improvements, the move-in process and rental billing. As an exemplary and transparent leader, you will oversee a team of property managers, a commercial operations manager, an assistant property manager, a commercial operations coordinator, maintenance personnel and third-party vendors. You will assist and support construction and maintenance teams working on Bluestone sites including supervision, scheduling, maintaining a safe work environment, and providing technical and functional guidance. In this role you will also be a member of the senior leadership team who contributes and provides recommendations to the internal Development and Acquisition team. Using your expertise, you will provide business solutions including strategic advice related to industry trends, market information, leasing activity, pricing and building conditions. Upholding our positive tenant relationships, you will ensure a high standard of property conditions through regular inspections, preventative maintenance measures, and ongoing capital/major improvements. To be successful in this position, you have a minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial property management and commercial leasing in a supervisory position. You have an excellent understanding of leases and contractual documentation. You are a strong communicator, negotiator, problem solver, and critical thinker. Ideally you will have education or accreditation in a related real estate institute (BOMA, REIC, SIOR, ICSC). A valid G driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and automotive liability insurance of $1,000,000 are required as this position will attend commercial sites within London.
