Lead Technical Analyst, Storage (SAN Storage)

Job SummaryJob DescriptionWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?Seeking an experienced Storage Administrator to join a Global Storage group. You will be managing diverse portfolio of Storage solutions supporting Open Systems, AIX and iSeries server environments. The candidate will be expected to exhibit both strong technical and communication skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems with vendors and internal groups.WHAT WILL YOU DO? Management of RBC’s Global SAN environment which includes all aspects of end-to-end provisioning activities (zoning, storage allocation, data replication)Fabric and Block Storage monitoring, ability to perform performance and capacity analysis.Take part in evaluation, design and implementation of new storage solutions.Implement and maintain storage platforms (maintaining software and firmware levels to vendor recommended levels)Implement business continuity practices for storage management and documentation.Fully Integrate into global storage support.Take part in an on-call rotation to support RBC storage infrastructure components.Engage in POC to trial and implement new storage hardware options for RBC’s businesses to leverage.Ensure process alignment with other infrastructure teams (request forms, change management process, etc)Regular and continued interactions with storage operations and engineering teams.Attend regular global team meetings, provide input and provide updates on storage infrastructures initiatives at RBC.Attend Infrastructure project meetings and provide input and updates.WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must Have Skills:BA, MA or MS or equivalent with emphasis in Information Technology & Systems Administration.3+ years hands on experience with IBM Storage platforms (SVC, DS8K and FS Models)Strong written and oral communication skills.Nice to have skills:DellEMC (PowerMax, Vplex), Pure Storage (Flash Array), Fabric, Scripting languages (Python and Perl)What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
