Our core focus is supporting project owners through collaborative and integrated partnerships to deliver projects that improve the world around us.Job Title: System Assurance Lead/EngineerLocation: Toronto, ON CA (Primary)Job Type: Full-timeJob Responsibilities(Internal Title: Engineering III)Engaging in the practice of professional engineering which requires the application of engineering principles.Planning, designing, composing, evaluating, advising, reporting, directing or supervising, or managing any of these acts.Involves the safeguarding of life, health, property, economic interests, public welfare, or the environment. Complying with regulations and guidelines for the practice of professional engineering in the Province of licensure.Performing day-to-day project-specific tasks and duties as planned and identified for the project in the engineering area of specialty.Planning for and executing appropriate means and methods in the engineering area of specialty to complete the assigned task and duties on medium-sized projects or medium-sized project elements on larger projects or programs from inception through to completion.Reviewing and ensuring adherence to the scope, schedule, and budget in the engineering area of specialty.Evaluating project effectiveness in engineering area of specialty by consulting with clients and project staff.Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations in engineering area of specialty, to project team and client team.Consulting with the assigned manager or Project Supervisor to seek guidance and input during the key phases of a project.Providing guidelines for Project Safety analyses in alignment with standards and guidelines.Determining Safety certification requirements for the CEP projects in coordination with program and project teams.Providing guidelines for the development of a Safety Certification Plan to the project teams.Providing guidelines for Project RAM analysis and defining targets and performance requirements.Provide oversight and review of the CEP projects’ systems assurance activities.Providing guidelines for the Safety and assurance activities’ acceptance criteria to the project teams.Review the Project Safety Certification plans and oversee the execution of the Safety Certification activities.Review (safety and assurance aspects) of pre-design, design, and V&V deliverables.Support Requirement management and interface management activities.Liaison with the Safety departments on behalf of CEP.Liaison with O&M, V&V, and integration leads to support CEP projects’ integration and handover.Knowledge and experience in Automatic Train Control systems assurance is necessary while knowledge and experience in other rail systems and rapid transit operation and maintenance would be an asset.Performing all other duties and tasks as assigned.Qualifications RequiredEducation:Undergraduate Degree in Engineering in area of specialty.Licenses or Certifications:P.Eng in Province of practice.Experience:8+ years of experience in engineering area of specialty.Skills and Competencies:Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Expert in other engineering-related software applicable to the area of specialty.Highly organized and able to multitask.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Able to work independently and as part of a team.In-depth understanding of prevailing engineering means and methods in area of specialty.Ability to effectively lead a small team in an engineering area of specialty.Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating leadership, teamwork, innovation, and excellence.Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.Comtech Group Inc. is committed to providing accessible employment practices that comply with local legislative requirements.
