Our team, led by the Technical Service Manager, ensures adherence to the strict guidelines of the BC Fire Code for the safety of our clients.Position Overview:As a supervisory position, it is the Field Supervisor’s responsibility to follow the Owner’s/Director's direction and communicate the organization's overall strategy and goals while providing positive direction to his own subordinates. This position’s responsibilities encompass the Field Service Technicians who carry out the prescribed services as per ASTT guidelines and in line with the goals and values as set out by Voltech management without prejudice. The majority of this role includes the supervision of the Field Service Technicians on all levels of expertise, entry level to senior level without bias. This position executes and maintains quality of service as set out by Voltech including, but not limited to, diplomatic client interaction and service procedure and policy adherence enforcement. Additionally, this individual might handle many of the service tasks himself, requiring him to work alongside his subordinates in a co-operative and collaborative manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:This role sets and exemplifies the standards to which all field service technicians on a whole should meet, and implements company procedures and policies to all technicians without bias. This position works co-operatively with other department heads to ensure the goals and mandates as set out by Voltech are met and/or exceeded.The Field Supervisor oversees and gauges the overall morale in the field, retrieving feedback from the technicians and relaying the specific and overall feeling of the company to upper management including but not limited to the Owner/Director. In addition, this individual would promote a positive image of the Company towards the technicians and clients alike to help maintain and increase the morale of the company staff members. This individual must motivate the workers to complete the work with the highest efficiency & integrity possible. Administrative Duties:The Field Supervisor collaborates and assists his colleagues to complete estimation work as needed. He may also procure supplies and equipment with the assistance of the Logistics Manager as needed. The Field Supervisor assists with the recruitment of senior or junior workers when requested.Provides Probationary Reviews of junior and senior technicians following completion of training. The review process includes a verbal discussion with the Trainer and employee, a written report should address topics including but not limited to quality of work, attendance and appearance, teamwork, accuracy and completion of reports, acceptable and unacceptable behavior when on the job, areas requiring improvement and a compensation recommendation. These reports must be submitted into the employee’s permanent records. Facilitating regular meetings with Senior Technicians to relay information to the field for past, current and future trends of the industry, developments in technology or Code requirements, changes or reminders of company policies and procedures, and generalized support and encouragement. Responsibility and Decision Making Authority:Maintains and reports on Field Technicians’ overall progress on a regular basis Reports on recommendations for pay increases, education requests, disciplinary actions, suspensions, or terminationsQualificationsKnowledge of fire alarm and sprinkler systemsExperience in project management and field supervisionStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to interpret and apply local fire codes and regulationsTechnical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsValid driver's license and clean driving recordRelevant certifications in fire protection or safety (e.g., ASTT BC, NFPA)
