Associate Lawyer - Securities & Capital Markets

Our client is now in the market for a mid-level Securities & Capital Markets Associate to join their national team of experts in their Calgary office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a collegial team and hone your skills in a broad range of corporate transactions, securities and corporate matters.The successful candidate will have the following:3 to 7 years of post call corporate securities law practice experience with an emphasis on capital markets and M&A from a national or reputable regional law firmExperience acting for issuers, underwriters and selling shareholders in domestic and cross-border public offerings and private placement of debt, equity and structured finance productsExperience working with corporations, investment banks, and financial institutions in negotiated and contested mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, independent committee engagements and defence preparationsExperience dealing with corporate governance matters, disclosure issues, equity and debt trading strategies, as well as regulatory compliance mattersAbove average academicsSuperior communication, drafting skills and strong attention to detailClient orientatedA law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.Our client is offering the following:Lock step tier one base salaryLucrative bonus structureExcellent health benefitsHybrid work arrangement (associates are permitted to work from home 2X a week)Educational incentivesRelocation package if applicableFuture partnership opportunitiesOur client is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
