We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Director, Digital Scrum Masters to play a critical role in leading the Scrum Masters within the Gaming Division who will be assigned to Digital Labs. This role is responsible for the ongoing evolution of Scrum Masters into Agile delivery leads and sustaining an environment of continuous improvement and enabling self-organized high performing labs. The Director, Digital Scrum Masters is experienced in Agile Practices and will be a player/coach acting as a Scrum Master for large scale initiatives outside of the digital labs. The role will provide metric tracking, training, mentoring, impediment management, and leadership to the Scrum Master team to enable their contributions to their respective labs. The lead will also be responsible for roadmap planning across the digital labs, supporting the various planning cycles (from annual to quarterly) and providing inputs into various senior decks (e.g., QPR and QBR) as well as maintain oversight and reporting on the digital risk log. The Director, Digital Scrum Masters role includes managing the partnership relationships across divisions and collaborating on inter-divisional planning of upcoming initiatives. Finally, the Director will lead the cross-Digital Lab Scrum of Scrums (referred to as Portfolio Agility) which includes facilitating large scale risks and issues discussions and mitigation planning with the Digital Labs, SLT & enabling teams, and recommending/implementing improvements to prevent repeated issues. .

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Sr Director, Digital Delivery & Release Train , you will be empowered to:

  • Leads a team of Scrum Masters to operate within labs and provide mentoring on agile practices, the delivery lead role and ways of working; provides 1:1 training, coaching and mentoring for purposes of development, support or remediation across all levels of the organization;

  • Acts as a player/coach and a key resource in large scale one-off digital initiatives as Scrum Master

  • Maintains roadmap of initiatives and reports into Digital SLT and into cross-divisional portfolio

  • Collaborate with the Release Train Director, RTEs and Scrum Masters in orchestrating the sequencing of initiatives across the entire portfolio of work for delivery and provide business stakeholders with insight and guidance on risks and opportunity for the portfolio, considering broad and cascading implications and dependencies across labs / initiatives

  • Determines, makes recommendations and implements on best practices in delivery within Agile framework

  • Perform analysis to identify emerging trends; engaging with digital labs, other divisions and service providers/partner to remove barriers to delivery and align on tactics to mitigate risks and address issues

  • Provide training to Scrum Masters on agile delivery principles and practices

  • Run the cross-lab Portfolio Agility workstream and anticipate and identify systematic impediments and works with labs, SLT and enablers to mitigate these impediments

  • Engage sponsoring executives and senior leadership to enable identification of critical issues and prepare recommendations for effective resolution

  • Proactively analyze and make recommendations for improvements to existing delivery practices and patterns at the lab level. Share best practices and insights across the organization to remove impediments to the implementation of Agile and planning/delivery of initiatives

  • Accountable to drive value assessments (business cases) of initiatives and post-implementation reviews conducted by the digital labs;

  • Support the professional growth of Scrum Master team through building strong relationships as a mentor, and monitoring talent, competency and skill development to ensure attainment of individual career goals and department objectives

  • Create an environment of collaborative teamwork built on collective accountability, constructive dialogue and receptiveness to diverse perspectives

Cross-Functional Relationships

  • Engage with vendors and partners to develop the overarching digital release (train)

  • Work with Digital labs, Lottery and Enterprise IT to develop and maintain the overarching roadmap and risk log

  • Lead the provision of lab-based reporting (including status of initiatives, risks, costs and benefits) to the client on a regular cadence to the Digital BU Product Owners and Planning, in a manner that supports the ongoing objectives of the Gaming Division

  • Build relationships and effectively collaborate with senior leaders/executives, including OLG stakeholders, vendors and partners to ensure delivery of commitments and drive results

  • Build strong partnership relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Service Providers, senior leadership, the regulator, vendors and digital labs to ensure delivery of commitments and drive results

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: • Hands-on experience in leading team for organizations with more than 10 parallel teams/projects, delivering at least 4 products simultaneously • At least 10 years of roadmap development and delivery experience, with evidence of increasing collaborations with senior leadership and complexity • 5-7 years of hands-on delivery experience with previous accountability for delivery outcomes using Agile practices • Experience leading large scale and complex transformations including complex technology solutions 

Education& Knowledge: •Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Master’s degree in business administration/management is preferred • Experienced in SAFe other Agile Scaling Framework used to scale Scrum/Kanban • Certified Scrum Master, PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner or equivalent experience • Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer, SAFe Program Consultant or PMI-PgMP equivalent experience an asset
