Assistant Professor Position in Biostatistics and Medicine at McGill UniversityThe McGill University Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health is home to one of the largest concentrations of doctoral-level epidemiologists and biostatisticians, with internationally recognized research programs in topics such as Bayesian methods, big data, causal inference, risk prediction, privacy protection, spatial models, and clinical trials designs and methods. The Department is one of the top academic units for biomedical statistics in the world and offers a vibrant and inclusive research environment attracting diverse students, staff, and faculty.The McGill University Department of Medicine is a leader in academic medicine with over 480 Full-Time faculty in 15 Divisions. The Department’s educational and research missions support world-class clinical and translational research across our main teaching hospitals: The McGill University Health Centre, the Jewish General Hospital, and St. Mary’s Hospital. We host a Graduate Program in Clinical Translational Research that seeks to develop leading clinician scientists and PhD scientists.Job DutiesThe successful candidate is expected to:Develop an independent, externally funded research program of the highest international standardsSuccessfully compete for research fundingSupervise a diverse body of graduate students in both departmentsContribute to formal teaching in the Master’s and PhD programs offered in both departmentsDisseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and other knowledge translation and exchange activitiesAll McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.
