Software Tester - Co-Op Position

SkyTrac Systems Ltd. has an opening within their Software Test department for a Co-Op Student. SkyTrac Systems Ltd is a specialized airborne SatCom communication solutions provider for the aviation industry which designs and develops its own hardware, embedded software and web software in-house. You will report to the Information Services & Test Manager and be exposed to a number of embedded and web software products and applications. Period of Employment: This is a 4-month work term from May 2013 – Sept 2013 Location: Kelowna, BC Primary Duties: Develop and execute test plans for web software and embedded software verification Develop and update test cases for existing and new system features Conduct formal software testing and document results Develop web software automated tests using Selenium Troubleshoot and document software anomalies Participate in software bug analyses Skills Required: Programming experience using .Net, C#, or Java is desired Knowledge of electronics at the circuit board level is a definite plus Positive work attitude Strong communication, planning and time management skills Additional Skills: Software configuration management tools and principles (preferably SVN) Knowledge of avionics, the aviation industry and satellite communications are considered assets Education: Currently undertaking a degree in Electrical/Electronic, Computer Engineering or related subject How to Apply Those interested in this position should send their resume via email to [email protected].
