ABOUT THE JOB The Accounting Manager role at TCR Canada entails overseeing accounting operations in compliance with local GAAP standards. This position involves coordinating various Accounting department functions, including daily operations, month-end and year-end closings, audits, financial reporting, and handling ad hoc requests. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage a small team of direct reports. The role requires hands-on involvement and collaboration with European Headquarters teams, while reporting to the Region Finance Director locally. The role offers opportunity for growth and the possibility to work on projects outside the traditional accounting scope. The role will be based out of Calgary, Alberta Canada. WHERE YOU’LL HAVE THE MOST IMPACT You will be supporting our business by being responsible for the following tasks: · Organize, supervise, and validate daily accounting and tax operations. · Lead the monthly general ledger close processes, journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and timeliness. · Engage in accounting entries while maintaining oversight, given the lean structure of the company. · Produce financial statements and facilitate bank compliance reporting, · Provide monthly variance and ad hoc analysis and reporting to senior management. · Ensure adherence to capitalization policies and processes, while managing daily cash transaction postings. · Implement accounting policies in line with GAAP standards, identifying and executing improvement opportunities within the control environment. · Ensure compliance with local GAAPs and Group procedures, addressing accounting issues and risks for executive leadership. · Act as the main contact for external auditors and other accounting and tax third parties. · Train and develop a professional accounting team, fostering collaboration with local and Headquarter teams. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE · CPA preferred, with at least three to five years of progressive operational accounting experience and management responsibilities. · Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP, taxes (including SUT), internal controls, and financial reporting. · Familiarity with intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and payroll processes. · Proficiency in process improvement and problem-solving, along with expertise in accounting software, ERPs, and Microsoft Office. · Experience in an international environment is advantageous. · High attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with the ability to work independently and raise concerns when necessary. · Leadership skills to drive performance and continual improvement within the accounting team. · Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. · Eligible to work in the Canada Share this...
