Technical Business Analyst - Business Intelligence

Job Title: Technical Business Analyst - Datawarehousing/Business Intelligence (BI)Location: Vancouver (Hybrid- 3 days Onsite)Job Type: Fulltime / ContractAbout the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Technical Business Analyst - Business Intelligence to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Business Intelligence (BI) systems, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of leading projects. This role requires an individual who can take ownership, facilitate collaboration between teams, and drive initiatives from inception to completion.Responsibilities:Ownership & Accountability: Take full responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of BI projects, from requirements gathering to implementation and post-deployment support. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals. Proactively identify issues and risks, manage them to resolution, and escalate when necessary to ensure project success.Business Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into actionable technical requirements. Facilitate workshops and meetings with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and ensure smooth communication. Develop clear and comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, use cases, and process flows.Project Leadership: Drive BI initiatives and enhancements, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. Work with technical teams to design, develop, and implement BI solutions that meet business needs. Lead the coordination of testing and quality assurance activities, ensuring the delivered product meets business and technical specifications.Communication & Facilitation: Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding between stakeholders. Present project updates, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management, in a concise and impactful manner. Facilitate conflict resolution and decision-making processes among teams to maintain project momentum.Data Analysis & Reporting: Leverage BI tools and techniques to analyze data, generate insights, and provide actionable recommendations for business improvements. Develop and deliver reports, dashboards, and visualizations that support decision-making processes. Qualifications:5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in BI, Data Analytics, or related areas.Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).Strong knowledge of SQL and PLSQL to be able to perform data analysis and validate data.Proven experience driving projects and owning outcomes, with a track record of delivering successful BI solutions.Strong understanding of BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory) and data management principles.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, and cross-functional discussions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think critically and deliver solutions that add business value.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills:Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).
