POSTING DATE: September 24, 2024 POSTING #414-24 (OPSEU) EXPIRY DATE: October 1, 2024 HURON PERTH HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE NOTICE OF VACANCY POSITION: PHYSIOTHERAPIST Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team Seaforth site Full-Time POSITION SUMMARY: A challenging exciting opportunity exists to be a member of a collaborative inter-professional team delivering an innovative rehabilitation service to help stroke survivors and their caregivers reach their optimal level of recovery in their own community. Using the principles of person-centered care, the physiotherapist is responsible for providing services to referred stroke clients in a variety of settings, with a focus on attaining optimal physical functioning that relates to fostering independence in the home and a return to activities that are important to the client. The physiotherapist will also provide client-specific consultation and education/training/in-services related to stroke rehabilitation for service providers, caregivers and families. REPORTS TO: Manager, District Stroke Centre & Dialysis DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible SALARY: $40.36 to $56.30 per hour QUALIFICATIONS: Education: - Degree from recognized accredited university program in Physical Therapy - A member in good standing of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario - Current Basic Life Support certification required - ADP certification preferred Experience: - Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation and demonstrated knowledge of current stroke rehabilitation best practices - Experience in both hospital and community service delivery is an asset Abilities: - Demonstrated ability to practice effectively in an inter-professional collaborative environment - Sound understanding of the role of a variety of rehabilitation professionals in the provision of stroke rehabilitation - Working knowledge of and experience with theories and principles guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches - Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, problem-solving and innovation skills - Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative - Evidence of continued professional growth and/or professional development - Appreciation of resource utilization - Computer skills, particularly Meditech, MS Office, and/or other software Please be advised that we are no longer accepting emailed or paper-based resumes.
