About Banff Avenue Community House (BACH): Banff Avenue Community House is a non-profit organization situated in the heart of a low-income social housing neighbourhood in South-East Ottawa. The Community House’s overarching goal is to offer a safe, inclusive space where individuals, children/youth, and families can gather, connect, and access a variety of supportive programs and services that are beneficial to the community in which we serve. Overview of Position: Our team is searching for someone who is a self-starter and has a strong understanding of marketing and promotions within the not-for-profit field. The Banff Avenue Community House Communications Leader would implement a communication strategy and messaging that reflect the vision, mission, and culture of BACH. Key areas of focus are on fund development to enhance programs and services, sharing impacts, as well as ongoing acknowledgement of the work being done to stakeholders (partners, donors, the community, and the public). Key Responsibilities: Craft compelling narratives for impact reports, grant applications, and promotional materials. Analyze data to inform marketing strategies and evaluate program success. Maintain and grow relationships with stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community partners. Coordinate with program leads to ensure marketing efforts align with organizational goals and values. Requirements for this position include: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, preferably in a non-profit setting. Familiarity with various marketing platforms (Canva, donor management software, Hootsuite, etc.) for disbursement efficiencies. Demonstrated success in fund development initiatives and impact reporting. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling. Profound commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and equity. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision. Utilize social media and other digital platforms to increase visibility and support for our programs through promotion materials. Bilingualism is an asset; French, Arabic, Somali, Creole, or other languages commonly spoken among Black communities in Ottawa will be considered an asset.
