Corporate Environmental Advisor

The Corporate Environmental Advisor supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the Corporate Environmental Program by working with the Manager, Environmental & Quality Services on corporate initiatives to continuously develop and maintain our ISO 14001 Registration. This role will also be assigned to work with site teams on their program development and implementation as required.


How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Assist the Manager, Environmental & Quality Services and project teams with the development and monitoring of Site-Specific Environmental Plans for the assigned project.
  • Assist the Manager, Environmental & Quality Services with ongoing program updating the Corporate Environmental program to ensure compliance with ISO 14001 Registration.
  • Revise and update Site-Specific Environmental Procedures and Plans as required.
  • Assist in obtaining the required environmental permits for the project.
  • Assist the project teams with improving environmental protection and correcting any inefficient practices and/or issues of environmental Non-Conformance.
  • Compile and report on environmental compliance to the Owner as per contract requirements and ensure that environmental documentation is maintained.
  • Assist with external audits with Kenaidan’s registrar.
  • Coordination of services with third party environmental consultants as required.
  • Assist estimating by obtaining pricing for various environmental scopes of work. 
  • As a member of Kenaidan’s internal audit team, conduct internal audits periodically throughout the year.
  • Act as a liaison on behalf of the project team with Environmental Authorities and Consultants.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of Kenaidan’s Environmental Program.

Education and Experience:  
  • Completion of a post secondary program in a related area or a combination of industry related training and experience
  • 3-5 years of experience with project-based environmental management or with environmental advisory roles, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 standard and environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with travel to job sites as required. Personal protective equipment (i.e. hard hat, safety boots & reflective clothing) required at all times when on site.
