Internship dates: May 5th 2025 to May or August 2025 (12-16 months) Location: 1801 Courtneypark Drive, Mississauga, Ontario Check out our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@PrattWhitneyCa Our website: https://www.pwc.ca/en Our expectations: The impact dynamics team within the Structure Systems department is responsible for simulating fan blade off containment, bird ingestion, and other extreme conditions using large physics-based simulations. The impact dynamics intern will be responsible for progressing and implementing current research projects in collaboration with other team members. She/he assumes responsibility for several components of a project. He contributes to the team or department by applying knowledge of several functional areas. The goal is to implement improved impact dynamics analytical methods based on current research to support cutting edge aerospace engine development. What your day to day will look like: Review past and current research relevant to aerospace impact dynamics Review past fan blade off, bird ingestion, and bench test data Propose and plan additional testing to support improved analysis methods Implement research-based improvements in fan blade off and bird ingestion models Document improved methods including simulation setup and correlation to test What you need to be successful: Must haves: Be eligible to work in Canada Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Science Excellent communication skills in English (spoken/written). Assets: Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively Coursework in solid mechanics, dynamics, finite element method Experience with finite element analysis and associated software (ex.
