Network Technician

Your newpany Our client is a leading Oil & Gaspany looking to hire NetworkTechnician for a 7-month contract with a possibility of extension.Your new role Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and event logs to identify potential problems Perform regular maintenance tasks such as software updates, security patching, and backups on network devices Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software-related issues on routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment Implement and test network failover, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans Collaborate with server, security, and application teams to ensure end-to-end system health Document network configurations, change management processes, and operational procedures Maintain accurate network inventory records and asset management information Analyze network metrics and trends to identify optimization opportunities and make rmendations Provide on-call support and after-hours incident response as needed Participate in the design and implementation of new network architectures and technologies Assist in the development of network-related policies, standards, and best practices What you'll need to succeed Bachelor's degree inputer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in network administration, operations, or IT support roles In-depth knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and technologies (e.g. LAN, WAN, switching, routing) Proficient in administering and troubleshootingmon enterprise network services and security solutions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolveplex technical issues Experience with network monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g. Cisco, Wireshark, Python) Understanding of server, storage, and IT security best practices as they relate to network infrastructure Excellent written and verbalmunication skills to document procedures and collaborate with cross-functional teams Certification in network-related technologies (e.g. Cisco,pTIA) is preferred Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 IT operations environment
